Does it really scan?

Yes — and we check, we don't guess. Once a code is drawn, it's decoded again at full size and at a few small, camera-like resolutions, using zxing, the engine behind real phone scanners. If a character can't get through that however we draw it, we tell you, instead of handing you a code that fails in front of people.

Can I change my details after printing?

That's the whole point. The code holds a short address pointing back to us, not your phone number. Edit whenever you like, and codes already out in the world show the new version straight away.

Which characters look best?

Heavy, simple shapes. A bold English letter, a dense Chinese character, an emoji with a strong outline. Anything you can only recognise by colour or fine inner detail vanishes in black and white — leaving a silhouette, and every silhouette looks like a circle.

Does the other person need an app?

No. Their camera just opens a normal web page. From there one tap saves you into their contacts, using the phone's own address book — nothing to install, no account to open.

What if I want the code to open a website directly?

You can. Each code can switch between “contact card” and “jump to a URL”, and changing your mind later doesn't mean reprinting.

How much does it cost?

USD 10 per code, paid once. Not a subscription. Drawing and previewing are free — you only pay for the ones you decide to own.

Who can see my details?

Anyone who has the code can — just like anyone who has your paper card. That's what the code is for. Put what you'd print on a card, and leave off what you wouldn't. The contact page is marked so search engines don't index it.

What if you shut down?

Anything sitting between a printed code and the data behind it deserves that question, and we'd rather you ask now. Every code remembers the domain it was born on, and we treat that domain as permanent — it won't change with whatever the marketing site is called this year.
